Alumni Association

Antioch College Alumni Association

Antioch College is one of the most distinctive colleges in the United States. For Alumni, the years spent as a student are among the most exciting and challenging of our lives. We all leave Antioch with strong feelings about the College and a sense that we have formed a unique identity. At few other colleges in the country are the alums known by a distinctive name. But all of us, from the moment we enter Antioch, become Antiochians and we stay that way for the rest of our lives.

There is something about Antioch — Is it the sense of community? The sense of finding kindred spirits? Folk Dancing on Friday? The challenge of trying to study, to work, to travel around the world? Trying to live up to the famous Horace Mann dictum? The beer at the Tavern? The Saturday Night movie? Saving a college? All of the above? None of the above?

It is hard to describe the connection that each of us feels for Antioch. It is reflected in the Class Notes that appear in each issue of the Antiochian. You can feel it when you come back for Reunion. You know it when you meet other Antiochians.

One of the purposes of the Alumni Association is to encourage and promote that connection. Its goal is to keep that connection alive and to give it a practical quality by organizing programs and services for Alumni. Another purpose is to represent Alumni views to the College and to develop ways that Alumni can be involved with current students.

The Association also promotes communication among alumni and between the College and all of us. One of the ways is does this is through its various Committees.
