Irwin M. Abrams, Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at Antioch, a pioneer in peace research and global authority on the Nobel Peace Prize, died on December 16, 2010 at age 96.
He joined the Antioch College faculty in 1947, organized the Department of History, and became a full professor in 1951. He helped President Jimmy Carter win the Nobel Peace Prize by nominating him for 12 straight years.
He was inducted into the Dayton Walk of Fame in 2007 and received the Arthur Morgan Award from Antioch College Alumni Association in 2003.
