Robert J. Serling, aviation writer and older brother of Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling, died of pancreatic cancer on May 6, 2010, at age 92 in Tucson, Arizona.

Born in Cortland, NY and raised in Binghamton, Serling graduated from Antioch College in 1942. He served in WWII as an aircraft identification instructor.

He worked with United Press International for 23 years and published 25 books including the New York Times bestseller “The President’s Plane is Missing.” He served as technical consultant for Rod Serling’s Twilight Zone episode “The Odyssey of Flight 33.”
