Stine Levy (June 5, 1927 – December 29, 2024) passed away peacefully at her home in Bloomington, Indiana, at age 97. She was born in Kiel, Germany, and emigrated to the United States in 1933 with her family to escape Nazi persecution.

Stine attended Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where she joined the NAACP and participated in organizing activities for workers’ rights and racial integration. It was at Antioch where she met Leon Levy, her first husband and father of her three children.

After relocating to Bloomington in 1954, she earned a master’s degree in educational psychology and developed psychological testing adaptations for nonverbal children with autism and developmental disabilities. She maintained a private practice into her late 80s.

She is survived by three adult children and five granddaughters.
